The CSAA newsletter highlights a transformative retreat held during the spring equinox, a time symbolizing renewal and growth. The event was inspired by the Cree concept of “Anantuwahpit,” likening the journey of planning to navigating rapids, where foresight and reflection are essential. This metaphorical framework guided the two-day Pre-Reveal Planning Session, which brought together survivors, leaders, and the CSAA community to discuss current initiatives, envision the future, and explore innovative ways to address challenges. Spiritual guidance from Cultural Advisor Ozawa Ginew and an exercise in bracelet-making emphasized the importance of spiritual covenants in the community. The retreat also provided a platform for open dialogue on Truth and Reconciliation, while celebrating the shared history and culture of the CSAA. Additionally, the newsletter featured a recipe for Barley Soup from Jackie Fletcher and a language post highlighting an apple pie recipe, further connecting tradition and healing through food and language.
